According to the consignor, these are copies of a pair from the Museum of New York City and were commissioned by Jacqueline Kennedy during her redecoration of the White House and were to be sent back to Mottahedeh to be destroyed because of a handle/lid imperfection to one, but were sold by her to the consignor instead and another pair is now in the White House. 16”h., base 4.5”x4.5”
