Sigoigne attributed to Bass Otis accompanied by a
letter dated June 9, 1816 from Nicholas Biddle on
his stationary as President of the Bank of the
United States to Bass Otis at his studio in
Philadelphia addressing the delivery of the painting
and Biddle’s satisfaction with the work. Light
surface crackature and buckling, old but not
original varnish, original frame with perhaps some
early 20th c. changes and repainting.
